Matchmaking Market

Online matchmaking is a billion dollar industry in the United States, having skyrocketed in popularity since 2001. The Web has revolutionized the matchmaking business by making affordable and convenient matchmaking available to the entire online population. The current market size of North Americans using online dating services is estimated at over 40 million people each month. The online matchmaking market has doubled each year over the past three years - a trend that is expected to continue. Match.com projects online singles will reach 75 million by 2005.

Monster.com, a service that matches employers with job seekers, has 36 million job seeker accounts and 175 million job searches done each month.

Comscore reported for 2002 that revenues generated by online matchmaking services surpassed all other paid content categories online. DirectMatches is the first online matchmaking service where you get paid to meet people through a combination match feature. For more information view the CBSNews 60 Minutes Report Aug. 18, 2004.
